In this edition, we want to share what has happened in recent weeks in the new youth service space we call "YOUTH CONNECTION." We are grateful to share that this connection is growing little by little.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, we joyfully welcome adolescents and young people between the ages of 14 and 20. They come by choice, from different backgrounds, bringing with them diverse realities, challenges, and dreams. In this space, they find a place where they can be heard, supported, and actively participate in the projects we build together.
A few days ago, someone asked us why we call it "YOUTH CONNECTION," and it's certainly good for everyone to know about it. We live in a world where everything seems connected through the excessive use of social media, the internet, devices, and so on. However, many young people experience a profound disconnection from themselves, their families, their friends, and God.
Youth
Connection was born as a response to that deep need for connection, a sense of purpose, and a path to transformation. Through their own life experiences, we seek to help them discover tools that allow them to recognize their value, their purpose, and the importance of walking in community, developing healthy relationships with themselves, with others, and with God.
Over these months, we have achieved small but valuable goals. We finished reading a book together, reflected on the topics covered, and honestly shared our experiences and opinions.
We enjoyed board games and team activities that invited us to think, grow, and connect. We also served others as part of our volunteer work with Vida Plena Ministry, especially by helping with daily care for children.
We celebrated life, organized birthday parties, and in May, we had a very special outing to the movies. For some, this was the first time someone celebrated their birthday, and for others, the first time they had ever entered a movie theater to see a film.
These simple moments have been filled with love and positive emotions that, without a doubt, create an opportunity for connection.
We thank God for every step, for every person who supports us with their prayers and support in different ways. Thanks to this support, we continue the process of accompanying and discipling our young people, walking with them in faith, love, and commitment.
