My name is Tania Rubí, and I have been part of Vida Plena since I was 5 years old. I am now 17 years old and have a two-year-old little girl named Charlotte. After Vida Plena re-opened post pandemic, I came back in July 2022 with a lot of sadness in my heart due to the death of my two brothers and my father in a traumatic event. On top of that, my family and I lived in extreme poverty, and we quite literally didn't have anything to eat often!
At fourteen years old, I was responsible for two babies: my daughter and my nephew, the son of my dead sister. I breastfed both as if they were twins. My thoughts about the future were very disappointing. I didn't see any alternative for my life. I only saw darkness and no way out.
However, God has been good, and He has given me many opportunities and good things have happened in my life since I arrived at Vida Plena. Now, I look to the future with hope. Despite the difficult things my family has been through and the difficulties that I continue to face, the Lord has shown me that He is my shepherd and I lack nothing.
The Vida Plena program enrolled me in school and takes care of my daughter on the days I attend class. The program also provides me with school supplies, transportation costs and all payments that must be made at the institute.
On school days I get up at 4:30 AM to get ready with my little one who is now two years old. I leave my daughter early in the morning at the program, and I happily attend my classes. My teachers are very happy and my academic performance is very good. I finished last year with very good grades, and I love the subject of Natural Science. This year I am starting 9th grade full of dreams and hopes.
I dream to be a nurse so that I can get a job and enroll my daughter in kindergarten. The Lord will help me fly like a butterfly; I had broken wings and He repaired them.
